To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we are revisiting and checking in with our employees who completed their apprenticeships with us at Comms365. We have also introduced new apprentices to the company! We talk to them about their experiences below.
In the third and final article of our three-part series, we have spoken to three of our employees; Sam, Billy and Sam, who previously completed their apprenticeship with us. Read on to find out what they have achieved since finishing their courses.
Sam, Level 3 IT Apprenticeship
1. How long did you do your apprenticeship for?
1 Year
2. Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship?
I chose to do an apprenticeship as I wanted a new challenge in a scenario I was not comfortable in. I wanted to explore new adventures and learn something I didn’t know much about.
3. What have you achieved since completing your apprenticeship?
I have achieved many things within the company, both personally and professionally. One personal achievement would be gaining confidence within myself and one professional achievement would be learning to be customer friendly either face to face or talking over the phone.
4. Would you recommend an apprenticeship to others?
I would recommend an apprenticeship to other people as it is a great way to learn and gain the skills to work professionally within a company which is what is needed to make the first steps towards a bright future.
5. How has Comms365 supported you throughout your apprenticeship?
Comms365 encourage and support you to grow personally and professionally. They have supported me to gain the highest knowledge, not only within the company but also within IT in general. They will make sure your apprenticeship work is up to date and make sure you are not falling behind and will support you if you do.
6. Is there anything you found challenging about the apprenticeship?
Working within the college by myself, I was the only student in the class so it was difficult not socialising with other people.
7. What has been your favourite thing about doing the apprenticeship?
The whole year was very good but my favourite part was developing my skills and becoming part of the Comms365 family.
8. Since we last spoke in 2019, how have you developed at Comms365? Is there anything you are particularly proud of?
I have developed massively at Comms365, they have really pushed and motivate me (for example passing my driving!)
Billy, Level 3 IT Apprenticeship

My confidence levels have improved a lot since passing.

Yes definitely!
5. How has Comms365 supported you throughout your apprenticeship?
Comms365 has supported me every step of the way and always encouraged me to learn and grow.
6. Is there anything you found challenging about the apprenticeship?
Not really, if needed there’s always been support for any more difficult tasks.
7. What has been your favourite thing about doing the apprenticeship?
Being able to visit our data centre to see our core network was very interesting and insightful!
8. Since we last spoke in 2019, how have you developed at Comms365? Is there anything you are particularly proud of?
I’ve passed both of my Cisco exams so am now CCNA certified and also I’ve passed my WatchGuard Wireless exam! I’m also managing my own projects for customers too.
