A 4G connection solves challenges at each stage of a renewable energy project by providing quick and easy Internet connectivity. At Comms365, we’re experts in 4G Internet connectivity and services. We’ve worked with a range of renewable energy companies, providing connectivity during the construction stage, remote monitoring and on-site communications for wind, solar and hydro power sites.
Here are some of the ways we stand out from other suppliers:
Network Options and Site Surveys
Our 4G Fixed IP SIMs are available on the four main UK network providers; EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. This allows you to choose the provider who has the best coverage at your renewable energy site. We have a range of tariffs and contract lengths available to suit your needs.
If you’re unsure which provider is the best choice, we can conduct a detailed site survey to assess the 4G coverage at your proposed site. The survey aims to identify the best carrier in your location, with details of what speeds you can expect. The survey involves testing signal strength at various locations at your site for optimum placement of a 4G Solution. The site survey report provides a detailed summary with photographs, readings and recommendation.
4G Routers and Pre-configuration
As well as providing 4G Fixed IP SIMs, we can provide a complete solution including a 4G router. We have several Comms365 routers which are specifically designed for enterprise use, as well as a carefully selected range of third-party routers.
What’s more, we can pre-configure your 4G Router and SIM so that when it arrives on site, all you need to do is simply plug it into a power source.
Failover and Bonding
If you require additional resilience for both the remote monitoring and vital on-site communications, a failover solution can provide an essential backup 4G connection. Should your primary connection fail, the failover solution will automatically fall back onto the backup connection with no disruption (less than 0.3 seconds). What’s more, the connection fails over onto the same fixed IP address and when the primary connection comes back up, it’ll automatically revert back.
For sites with marginal 4G connectivity requiring enhanced performance, a 4G bonded internet solution can provide improved performance. A bonded Internet solution can combine multiple 4G Internet connections into one, higher performing Internet connection. This bonded connection delivers faster download and upload speeds, as well as increased reliability to meet the performance requirements at your site.

Don’t Just Take Our Word for It
We work with numerous renewable energy companies to support the construction stage, remote monitoring and on-site connectivity for wind, solar and hydro power sites.
Here’s what one of our customers, Brighter Green Engineering had to say:
“We approached Comms365 to provide 4G connectivity for the remote monitoring (SCADA and CCTV) for our solar farms, and they have been a pleasure to work with. We chose Comms365 because they met our technical requirements and were able to provide a flexible solution using aggregated data packages across the whole portfolio. The support we have received has been excellent and responsive to the various situations faced on a daily basis. The CommsPortal in particular is useful for monitoring our 4G data usage.
I’d recommend Comms365 to others in the renewable energy sector because they are reliable and understand the connectivity challenges for renewable energy sites.”
Silverstone Green Energy also spoke highly of Comms365’s services and support:
“Comms365 provided us with 4G connectivity for remote monitoring for several solar farms. It’s been great working with Comms365 because they are easy to contact and provide prior informative information on network issues in the area. We have found Comms365’s services to be very competitively priced and very consistent service.
I would recommend Comms365 to others who need remote access on solar farms.”
