Our Single Operator SIMs are delivered via our own network that is interconnected directly into the mobile operator networks – EE, Vodafone, Three and O2 networks. This guarantees access to these networks wherever they are available in the UK. As and when the networks roll out new technology, we will incorporate that into our network. 5G capability will be added as it becomes available.

Single Operator or Multi-Network SIM?

The decision whether to opt for Single Operator or Multi-Network is often down to cost. Single operator SIMs tend to cost less once 5GB per month or more is required. However, cost shouldn’t be the only consideration. As we have private APNs with the operators, the data service is managed through the direct interconnects and as a result there are fewer network ‘hops’. Single operator SIMs also have the benefit of always being available on the network of choice, whereas the operator availability on Multi-Network SIMs may vary depending on current carrier agreements.

Our Single Operator SIMs offer unrivalled capability and as a long established network service provider we have the experience to design and deploy technically advanced solutions. We offer no fewer than four Multi-Network IoT SIM solutions (each with unique services and benefits) which enable unsteered, seamless roaming over 400+ operators across the world including all 4 UK network providers (EE, Vodafone and O2 are currently 5G enabled as well) and approximately 90 operators within EU28 countries. Some providers are referring to this type of SIM as an eSIM. Whilst not a 100% accurate description, it offers some providers a way of differentiating against traditional single operator SIMs.

Local Internet Breakout

Service quality when using the Internet is often defined as how quickly the content required is delivered. This ranges from Internet page loading, File download time, Voice quality when using VoIP and any applications that are particularly sensitive to latency (the delay between a user’s action and the web applications response to that action). A 4G SIM being used in China for example that has its Internet delivered from the UK will see increased latency as the data packets have to travel a significant distance before the service is provided. This can render many services unusable (unless they use such small packets of data, or the data is non-essential). The solution to this is called Local Internet Breakout.

By accessing Internet services that are more local to the location of the SIM, the user experience is greatly improved. This is the reason Comms365 has invested in delivering Local Internet Breakout in three regions across the world. Comms365 Global SIMs now utilise Internet services in the UK, USA and Asia, ensuring a faster and more consistent service. This also means that users of Comms365 SIMs in the USA for example will be served with US content, rather than UK content.  Not only is the service provided locally, it is also multinetwork, which ensures the SIMs have access to a number of networks in each country. For example in the USA, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile are all available on one SIM.

Flexibility

Our Multi-Network IoT SIMs offer unrivalled capability and as a long established network service provider we have the experience to design and deploy technically advanced solutions. We are extremely confident in all our SIMs and our network capabilities and can offer flexible trials to ensure customers’ needs are met.

Control

Fixed Public or Private IP addresses are available with a range of data packages. Our Multi-Network SIMs do not have a home network, which means they will automatically attach to the strongest available signal. Our advanced CommsPortal will allow you to manually swap mobile operators at a network level rather than having to program your end device or you can just let the SIM do the automatic network selection. This is a unique feature that puts you in control of your SIM estate. You will also receive alerts and access to our CommsPortal management platform so you can monitor and control your data usage.

Fixed Public IPs are available either as NAT or no-NAT depending on requirements.

Security

Our latest “e2” Multi-Network SIM offers additional optional security features such as Botnet disruption, Malware scanning and prevention, Phishing prevention and Real-time malicious traffic monitoring. Optional Application Filtering is also possible, ensuring that your 4G connection is only being used for its purpose. In addition, all of our SIMs come with DDoS protection as standard.

The C365-4GDS-SM-W Dual SIM 4 Port 4G Router is an ideal wireless data transfer device for applications transferring large data loads because of the fast transfer speed in 4G networks reaching up to 150Mb download and up to 50Mb upload.  VPN features also can be configured in the router, allowing you to utilise virtual private network services through a 4G/3G wireless router and built for the stresses and workload of a modern industrial or commercial environment.

The C365-4GDS-SM-W series routers can offer backup network between the two SIM cards to ensure a continuous connection. With optional GPS capability, this can make the router ideal for fleet tracking or access management.  The C365-4GDS-SM-W Dual SIM 4 Port 4G Router is well-suited for M2M Connectivity in harsh or remote environments because of its rugged metal casing, DIN-rail mounts and operating range of -30 to +70 degrees.

A low cost entry level industrial 4G router – ideal for situations where cost is paramount.

 

The Comms365 R300 4G Router is an ideal product for industrial applications owing to its form factor, feature set and construction. The router is designed to support all 4G high speed mobile broadband applications in M2M, CCTV, Security, Media, Utilities and any other area that requires IP connectivity between a device and a host on the internet. The device can be used with Fixed IP SIMs (which we can provide from our own core network across all 4 UK mobile operators) or normal data SIMs.  There is NO Wi-Fi on this model.

Mobile data communications using embedded Routers is fast becoming an essential tool for providers field based communications solutions.  The 4G Router is designed to stay on line and connected, it has various stay-alive features giving you peace of mind with remote site communications, particularly CCTV and Telemetry and with its Dual SIMs (not normally found on routers in this low price range), multiple operator SIMs can be used to add extra resilience.

    Partner has success providing bin sensors in a national park to monitor bin fill levels.

    Customer Challenge

    The customer was having to carry out daily bin collections at a national park, irrespective of whether they were full or they were over-flowing. However, many bins were overflowing before being emptied which resulted in causing an increase in rodents and litter in the park.

    Business Opportunity

    LoRaWAN infrastructure, including server and Lora gateways, and LoRa sensors positioned in a national park.

    Product and Services Solution

    Our LoRaWAN solution was deployed. We added LoRa sensors to these bins which send a message as soon as a bin is full and also send notifications as the bin levels increase and the bin fills up.

    Result

    In the trial alone, they managed to see many results including: a reduction of the amount of CO2 they were producing due to driving less, a saving on fuel costs by driving less, checking and re-checking bins, evaluating which bins were most popular so were able to organise effective collection routes. This bin sensor was also able to detect temperature, which was an excellent feature to improve Fire Safety. Due to the IoT sensors being deployed, they were able to stop a fire that happened at 4am in the morning. They received an alert which allowed them to react quickly to prevent a major fire in the national park and surrounding environment.

    Partner has success providing a managed Wi-Fi Solution at a construction site for 100 users.

    Customer Challenge

    The end users were a team working in the site office, which was in a double-stacked temporary modular building at a construction site. They would only be on-site for 6-9 months and would not be able to get a leased line in. The Wi-Fi would need to provide Internet connectivity for 100 users logging on.

    Our SD-ONE 300Mbps solution was deployed at this site, along with 2 x 5G Routers and SIMs to maximise the throughput. Once this was all connected, we were able to achieve just under 200Mbps download speeds at the site. We also deployed our Managed Wi-Fi solutions across the 2 floors to connect their 100 staff members.

    Immediate Internet Connectivity. The end user was able to be up and running in a matter of days with a fully configured and installed solution for the site, allowing their team to start working from the site office immediately. Following this win, the partner was able to secure further sites with us and continue to grow their revenue with this product set.
